Holiday's are Over

Hello! I am back with a vengence! What what! How I have missed blogging about everything! Life at the Peterson's has been so crazy I haven't even had time to hardly do any projects or crafts. A full time job, church calling and graduate school is taking over my life. But here I am fighting back. Who needs to turn in that paper due this week when I have a blog post to write. Am I right?!

So no crafternooning today but here's a mini update on my holiday season:

Cliff took me on a surprise date to the Cosmopolitan (like a crazy fancy casino here in LV) to ice skate on the top of the building and then to the Wicked Spoon to eat like the gods. I mean look at that dessert plate: macaroons, gelato, choc covered strawberries, apple cobbler, egg nog suffle. Ya stop drooling on your keyboard, not attractive. Next we went to the Bellagio to see the Christmas light garden. It was very cool.

We had our own little tree and stockings in our apartment. Look how adorbs our first tree is! It makes it look like you have way more presents when you have a small tree. Note to self: remember that when you have children.

We spent Christmas eve with my parents. It was so amazing to get to see them and give them their gifts. We didn't capture any pictures though :( bummer.

Then we went to my inlaws to celebrate my first Christmas with kids. It was pure insanity, but the good kind ya know.

Here they are in their new pajamas waiting to see what Santa brought.

And here are all the siblings and inlaws. Super selfie time! We look pretty tired and crazy.

And here is the look of one happy girl.

This was our Merry Christmas to all face. We had such a good day. I did get homesick just a little.

We also got to catch up with my dog! Isn't she the cutest!

And now I'm back at work. But on the bright side I get to stare at this lovely view all day of the strip.

Lately I have been a crazy coupon-er so stay tuned for tips on how to get stuff on the cheap!

6 Months Down

Remember that one time I married my best friend six months ago. It was a good choice pretty sure. And a lot of shtuff has happened in our life since then.

So here's a recap.

Honeymoon to Punta Cana: Swimming with dolphins, laying on the beach looking at the clear blue water, and para-sailing over the island. It was a dream come true and the best way to start my life with my best friend.

My parents wedding: Yay for love and marriage. Two weddings in less than 2 months. You could say love was definitely in the air.

Temples trips: Cliff gets a little too excited obviously when we go to the temple. It's always fun and spiritual to drive to the temple for date night.

Richfield 4th of July: Nothing can beat a good hometown 4th of July. Spending time with good friends, good food from "Jolley Brother's Scone Burgers", and fireworks.

My best friends wedding: So fun to spend time with my friends, parents, and Cliff.

1st DIY project together: I got Cliff on board with the whole DIY thing. We still love our entertainment center. Not just because it looks awesome, but because it was something we made together.

Go to work with your husband day: Look at that stud. LOVE spending time with this handsome man of mine.

Labor day in Panaca: Yes those are my inlaws dressed up as the Simpsons and some of my nieces and nephews. The best part about getting married is gaining an amazing family and support system. They rock!

Cliff's Surgery: Yes this wasn't so fun for him, but he is healthy and so much better now. I am so happy he is such a strong person.

iHeart Radio the Village Concert: Yes we saw Miley twerking it (not my fav), as well as The Band Perry, Jason Derulo, Avril Levine, and a ton of others. It was crazy fun to spend time with my honey watching some amazing performers.

Nascar trucks: Can I be a little more redneck? It actually was an awesome time. Don't judge me.

Halloween: How cute is that. Our ward trunk-or-treat.

Red Rock: Never been, so we took the trip to see what everyone was talking about. It was fun to look at the beauty right outside of Vegas and have a picnic.

I think I have the world record for most pics in one blog post. I will refrain from sharing more. So much has happened in these last six months including going to the Las Vegas foodie fest full of food trucks, drive in movies, shopping at Town Square, visiting our families, and soooo much more fun.

But my most favorite part is that I am doing all of this with my best friend. Yesterday my husband had his throat scoped and while he was put out it just made me nervous to think what would happen if he was gone. I didn't want to leave his side after he came home.

He is my everything. I couldn't have picked a better man to spend {e t e r n i t y} with.

So here's to 6 months. I can't wait to see what 6 more brings.

New Job // New Life

Hello world!

I feel like this is the longest day of my LIEEEFE. (That was "life" in a really dramatic tone).

But it was super great.

Today I started my job. Day one, uno, number 1! It was full of HR packets, tax information, insurance policies, and a history on my company. Yum.

But look at me and the hubster:

We have the most awesome opportunity to work for the same company. Different floors, but lunch together is definitely an option most days. How sweet is that?! We are legit coworkers for an awesome company. Power couple say what?! Just kidding but really it is so exciting to get out in the work field.

After work today, I got to come home to a full night of grad school homework. Ick. Plus I now have to figure out dinner, cleaning, and crafternoon time so I can blog awesome shtuff! (Obvs my husband is awesome and has already started taking over a ton of housework stuff).

First and foremost though, my husband will come first, next my job and work, so sadly my blog will be on the back burner for a while. No that doesn't mean I will quit blogging. I am still here, alive and well. You just may not see me as much. Sniffle sniffle. Come May, I will be finished with my masters degree and ready to take on the blogging world again with a BANG!

Okay, maybe I will still be blogging just as much. Maybe I'll be seen in the halls at work typing a crafternoon post on my phone of a craft I made at my desk out of paper clips and washi tape. Oh or shredded paper and staples with a few rubber bands thrown in there. Who knows where this new journey will take me?

Until next time :)

Mawwaige is what brings us together today

Guys! I have been married for 5 months already! Where does the time go? I just wanted to reminisce on some of the beautiful shots Lulu's Photography took to capture our big day. So here you go. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your Friday!

2 for 1 Dinner: Pulled Pork BBQ Pizza & BBQ Sandwiches

As a newlywed, the HARDEST thing to do it make dinner. Okay, maybe not the hardest, but it is a lot trickier than I thought it would be! I was so good in college about warming up a cheese on a tortilla and calling it a meal. Some nights if I was feeling spontaneous I would add some chicken and salsa. Go me!
Now that I have my other half, I want to make all of these awesomely impressive meals. At the same time I want it to be somewhat healthy and EASY.

Who knew it would be so hard to find recipes? I feel like I go to pinterest in search of a dinner idea and I come out feeling more overwhelmed than when I started.

So here is an easy idea. A two for one dinner! That's right I said it.

Night One: Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwiches

Night Two: Pulled Pork BBQ Pizza

Here's how you pull of this awesome two night extravaganza. I started off with a Campbell's Slow Cooker pack (it honestly wasn't my favorite BBQ so I will be on the look out for one with more of a kick).

For the first night you add a pork roast and this slow cooker sauce to your slow cooker. That's it! Seriously. Let it cook for 4 hours on high or 8 on low. Serve on a warm bun. Boom, first night of dinner complete.

Now for the second night. You will need:

Cheese
Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce (It's the best)
1 Green Pepper
1 Red Onion
A Pizza Crust
Left-Over Pulled Pork

Follow the directions on the crust by precooking it for a few minutes. Then pull it out and spread on BBQ sauce to your liking.

Top with chopped onions, peppers, pork, and cheese!

Bake for instructed time on the pizza crust. (Mine was about 8 minutes).

My husband was a happy man. Even with all the veggies, he was devouring this pizza. He said this was a "show-off" meal to make when people come over.

It seriously was so delicious. Just the right amount of kick with the BBQ sauce and spiciness. It also gave the pork a completely different flavoring. It was Y U M.
